The Northwest Colorado Council of Governments Economic Development District (NWCCOG EDD) promotes and coordinates economic development efforts throughout northwest Colorado, including the counties of Eagle, Grand, Jackson, Pitkin, and Summit, and the towns within. NWCCOG EDD’s mission is to be a regional leader, working cooperatively with the private and public sectors to enhance the economic conditions in the region, and improve the region’s economic prosperity.
The NWCCOG EDD has developed six core objectives to guide the district in its efforts create and manage programs that serve to strengthen the capacity of the region’s towns, counties, and economic development organizations, and to position the region’s economy for long term success:
- Build a Business Friendly Environment
- Retain, Grow and Recruit Businesses
- Increase Access to Capital
- Focus on Projects that Bolster Tourism, a Key Economic Driver in the Region
- Educate, Train, and Attract the Future Workforce
- Cultivate Innovation and Technology
NWCCOG EDD is funded annually by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), and is governed by a board of directors comprised of representatives from local governments, the private sector, and other economic development stakeholders including workforce and education. NWCCOG EDD will use the annual investment by the EDA, matched by funding from our member jurisdictions, to develop initiatives that advance new ideas and creative approaches to address rapidly evolving economic conditions in our region.
